NeuroCare raises awareness for neurological and psychiatric disorders by educating students on prevention methods, advocating for research toward a cure, and building a support network for people suffering from these disorders. We seek to accomplish this through a three-pronged approach: awareness, advocacy, and action. We will periodically set up booths with flyers and pertinent information, and advocate for the support and funding of neurological research. Members have the opportunity to plan fundraising events throughout the year and participate in service activities such as visiting Durham Nursing and Rehab, Central Regional Hospital and others. Members can also interact with community members with these disorders by finding a “buddy” through the NeuroBuddies program.
